It seems obvious that sales provides fuel for the business and yet the business issues that come up time and time again are lack of sales, sales at the correct margin and lack of opportunity. For nearly every company, there are piles of opportunities out there and it is just a matter of unearthing them and knowing how to deal with them effectively.
Here are some ideas to think around:
1. Using your internal market
Make sure every single person in your business has the correct product knowledge and knows how to opportunity spot.
2. Sales Farming
Make sure you maximise sales from every single existing account. Look for opportunities from lapsed accounts.
3. Effective Sales training
• Are there people in your business that know how to close a sale early and effectively?
• Are there people in your business who know how to handle a price objection and negotiate away from price to value?
4. Sales order processing
• Does your order process allow for repeat and range sales?
